Hello to anyone who made it this far and wants to know a little more about who I actually am. My name is João, although almost everyone calls me Andrade. I'm genuinely glad you've explored the portfolio this far.
I'm Portuguese and, putting code, projects and everything you've seen so far aside, there's quite a bit more to me outside that world.
Like most people my age, I'm completely addicted to films and TV series. I'll watch pretty much anything, although if I had to choose right now, Good Will Hunting and La La Land would definitely have a place on my very personal podium of favourite films.
I also enjoy reading, although I read quite a bit less than I'd like to admit. The last book I read was The Soul of Japan — Bushido, by Inazo Nitobé. I go through phases where I pick up one book after another, and others where the pile next to my bed becomes more decoration than an actual reading plan.
Music, on the other hand, is almost always with me. It's a bit like breathing. I code with music, work out with music, walk with music, and somehow it always manages to give me that little bit of extra fuel.
I really enjoy working out and working towards the physique I have in mind for myself. There's a kind of satisfaction that's hard to explain in walking home completely exhausted, feeling that muscle fatigue after a good session, with music in my ears. To me, it's genuinely one of life's most rewarding feelings. I enjoy it even more when the weather is grey and closed in. It gives me that feeling of, “I went anyway and I did it,” even on the days when, if I'm being truthful, I didn't really want to leave the house.
And I have a wonderful partner by my side with whom I want to build a good life. A big part of my ambition comes from that too. I want to be able to share the best of myself, my experiences and whatever I'm able to build along the way.
So that's a little more about me. I'm not here trying to sell you the pen or anything like that — this part really is without filters. I hope you enjoyed getting to know me a little better and, well, nice to meet you, person on the other side of the screen.
If you haven't already, take a look at the projects. Some of them even have prototypes you can try. I promise it'll be worth it. 😉 Thank you!
